	Mark, Jeb and I went fishing late this afternoon, but the boys had to finish their homework first. We only took our soft plastic tackle box, and used Yamamoto Senkos and Kreatures and Reaction Innovation Sweet Beavers, all on Gamakatsu 5ot offset worm hooks. We all used a touch of Mega-Strike attractant gel on the lures. Mark and I caught four bass each and Jeb was skunked. If we had of fished into dusk, I would have switched over to YUM buzzfrogs and fished the heavy lily, algae and SAV cover.
	*"Tell me where the big fish are or I'll bite your head off!"*
	Fragrant Water Lily Nympaea odorata (OBL) The water lilies will flower through September, but are more sporadic than they were July and August. If the breeze is just right you can smell the beautiful perfume of the fragrant water lily, which is big-time aroma therapy.
	Arrowhead or Duck Potato Sagittaria latifolia (OBL) like thewater lily, arrowhead will flower through September, but is only occasional now. As fall progresses this plant makes underground tubers that can grow to the size of a chicken egg. This 'potato' is relished by waterfowl, beaver and muskrat. The plant is called arrowhead because of the leaf shape that can be quite variable in shape, but always shaped like an arrowhead.
	This butterfly is about to partake in some dinner, feeding on a flowering goldenrod. Note that the proboscis (in the front of the face) is curled in the closed position.
	The butterfly uses his elongated, hollow feeding tube (a flexible straw-like appendage) to take a drink of nectar from the narrow flower parts. This guy was able to work that proboscis like a professional, quickly and efficiently 'sucking' the flower heads.
	I used my new Doug Hannon WaveCast reel today. I'm a Shimano Man, that's the only brand of reels I've ever used, but I bought a WaveCast to cut down on bird-nesting. I tied on Trilene MAXX monofilament and the reel is all that they advertise. Fine in most every respect, no twist, no bird-nesting, but one significant flaw. The reel has a poor quality, coarse, uneven drag.
